So middle aged men & women from 35 to 50 years are more prone to this disorder. While there are many cause that lead to this mental disorder, genes and living environment are considered to be the most common factors.

  • Genetic Factors – Medical studies have proven that there is less than one percent possibility of having this issue, if it is not present in the medical history of parents. While, if any of the parent was diagnosed with this disorder then the chances of this issue increases 10 times.
  • Imbalanced Brain Chemicals – Another very common reason for the development of this disorder is imbalanced neurotransmitters such as dopamine and serotonin in the brain.
  • Family Issues – While there are no proven facts behind this, many expert medical practitioners have stated that issues in family and quarrels with relatives can also lead to increased chances of developing this problem.
  • Lifestyle & Environmental Factors – The way you live and the environment around you also play a very important role in giving birth to this problem in people. These factors include trauma before birth, stressful life, job pressure, financial breakdown, viral infections etc. These can further lead to loss of job, broken relationships and depression etc.
